How Can I Get Involved?
There are two excellent ways you can get involved with "Meals to End Domestic Violence."
1. Volunteer
2. Eat! at a participating restaurant
1. We are looking for volunteers to help us out for lunch or dinner (or both!) on July 29th, 2008. Volunteers will be stationed at a local restaurant where they will distribute information on domestic violence and available resources to customers, answer basic questions about the DVCC and the "Meals to End Domestic Violence" campaign, and distribute raffle tickets. There will be a brief informational session beforehand to answer any questions that volunteers may have and to distribute information.
2. Another fun and simple way to get involved is to pick a restaurant from our list of participating restaurants and dine there during the meal time (lunch and/ or dinner) when they are participating on July 29th, 2008. And of course bring your friends, your family, and even the nice people next door!
What If I Can't Make It That Day?
If you are unable to make it to one of our participating restaurants on July 29th you can get involved by sending in donations. Please make any checks payable to "DVCC" and include "Meals to End DV" in the memo line. In exchange, your name will be entered into the raffle drawing for the excellent prizes listed here.
You can mail your checks into:

Where Will My Money Go?
The proceeds from "Meals to End Domestic Violence" will go to help the DVCC train first responders such as law enforcement, fire and rescue, medical community and area employers. They will also help us in our pursuit to build the best possible coordinated community response. Funds help the DVCC continue with our Silent Witness and Court Watch program along with other projects that build public awareness around the issues of domestic violence. Our newest project, the creation of a Family Justice Center, brings together multiple service organization under one roof to better serve victims of domestic violence. Proceeds will also be used for public awareness and education about domestic violence and available resources.
Why Should I Get Involved?
Domestic Violence is a pervasive problem throughout our society. By participating in "Meals to End Domestic Violence" you will be supporting and affiliated with a significant cause and showing the community that you won't be Silent about Domestic Violence.
You get to eat at a restaurant you already enjoy and give to charity at the same time.
And last, but no least....any cash contribution you make is a tax write-off as a donation to a charitable organization!
Drawings for Donations!
The DVCC will be accepting donations at participating restaurants and through the mail during our "Meals to End Domestic Violence" campaign. Those who donate will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win prizes from these fantastic locations!
